Good to know

Why a fridge isn't just another heavy box

Fridges, freezers and window AC units hold refrigerant. Under the EPA's Section 608 rules, it has to be recovered before the appliance is scrapped or landfilled. That's a federal rule, not a house rule, so tell us it's a fridge, freezer or AC when you text the photo.

  • It covers household fridges, freezers and window AC units with the refrigerant still inside.
  • The last stop, the scrap yard or landfill, must make sure it's recovered.
  • Already emptied? They need a signed statement saying who recovered it, and when.
  • A sticker on the appliance doesn't count as proof.

Appliance removal questions.

Do you take old refrigerators and freezers?

Yes. Fridges and freezers hold refrigerant, and under the EPA's Section 608 rules it has to be recovered before they're scrapped or landfilled. Tell us it's a fridge or freezer when you text the photo to (629) 291-1231, and we'll plan the pickup around it.

Do I need to disconnect it first?

Tell us when you text whether it's still hooked up to water, gas or power, and where it sits. We'll tell you what needs to happen before we get there, so the pickup goes quickly. A photo of the hookup behind it helps.

Will you take just one appliance?

Yes. One appliance counts as a whole job, and there's no minimum charge, so one washer, one dryer or one old stove is fine. Text a photo and your town to (629) 291-1231, and we'll text back a price. We respond within the hour, day or night.

Can you get a fridge up from the basement?

Yes. We carry it out, stairs included, and load it ourselves, so you don't lift a thing. Mention the stairs, any tight turns and how far it is to the driveway when you text. Same goes for a washer or dryer on the second floor.

Do you haul a washer and dryer together?

Yes. Send one photo of the pair and we'll price both. We carry them out of the laundry room, stairs included, and load them into our trailer on the same trip. Say whether they're still hooked up when you text, so we know what to expect.

How much does appliance removal cost?

Text a photo for a price. Send it to (629) 291-1231 or use the free quote form, and say what it is, where it sits and your town. If two or three appliances are going, put them all in one text. There's no minimum charge.

Can you pick it up today?

Often, yes. We do same-day pickup when the schedule allows, and 24-hour emergency pickup for jobs that can't wait, like a move-out deadline. Call (629) 291-1231 for the soonest time. We respond within the hour, day or night.

Who does the lifting?

Josh and Gabby, the two of us who own JG Junk Removal. We do every appliance job ourselves, with our own dump trailer. No subcontractors and no rental truck. We're licensed and insured, and it's the same two people for one mini fridge or a whole kitchen.

Still have a question?

Text us a photo and ask. We respond within the hour, day or night.
