24-hour emergency pickup is for jobs with a clock on them: a move-out with the keys due back, a house closing or a rental turnover, an eviction or foreclosure cleanout. The city runs on its own calendar, and most of it isn't today.

Metro's convenience centers: Tuesday to Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Metro brush pickup: four times a year, on a rotation.
Gallatin bulk pickup: monthly, for city trash customers only.
Gallatin sign-up closes at 3:30 p.m. the Wednesday before pickup.
